About

Bearhouse Alpacas is a long-established alpaca trekking/walking centre based in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Roncombe Valley, Sidbury, which is not far from Sidmouth, East Devon.

Our thriving alpaca trekking/walking experience is very popular with locals and holiday makers alike.  We are open all year round, weather permitting, and by appointment.  The walks last an hour and a half to two hours and are a gentle stroll, although the terrain is undulating and uneven under foot in places and can be muddy, so good walking shoes are important.  We do have an easier flat route if required.

Alpaca trekking can make for a great birthday party as well as a fun stag or hen party.  It’s a suitable activity for adults and children of all ages.  We can take out up to 14 alpacas at a time but are very happy to take just two people out at quieter times.

Our treks are weather permitting.  We don’t go out in high winds or heavy rain so it’s always a good idea to have a plan B if it’s a special occasion.

We charge £25.00 per adult and £15.00 per child, payable on the day by cash or card. Refreshments are offered at the end of the walk.

We have a small shop selling alpaca yarns spun from our own alpaca wool, alpaca socks, alpaca hats, raw alpaca fibre, keyrings, mugs, T shirts and other alpaca gifts and many of these items are also available on our on-line shop: www.bearhousealpacas.co.uk

We can bring our alpacas to special events so please let us know if you would like to discuss alpacas at your wedding or other celebration!

Breeding alpacas for sale as pets or breeding stock remains an important part of our business so for friendly, helpful advice about buying/keeping alpacas or to book your alpaca trek, please phone Pippa Westall or Richard Harris on 01395 597693 or email: info@bearhousealpacas.co.uk.
