Swanage Bay’s beaches are sandy, and the bay offers sheltered, clear waters for visitors.

 

Parking

There are numerous car parks in Swanage as well as beachfront parking.

 

Toilets

There are many public toilets and baby changing facilities throughout town and the beachfront.

 

Accessibility

Swanage Bay offers a flat seafront with ramps onto the beach. There are accessible toilets on Shore Road (adjacent to the beach), Swanage Pier, Mermond Place car park (24 hour access with RADAR key) and Swanage Museum and Heritage Centre.

 

Dogs

Dogs are welcome all year at Monkey Beach (between Stone Quay and Swanage Pier). No dogs on main beach from 1 May to 30 September.

 

Safety

The gently sloping beach has a clearly marked designated swimming area. Beach wardens patrol in summer. Lifeguard patrols daily from 27 May-10 September 2023, patrol times 10am-6pm.
